| The core mission of the Wellesley Vineyard is to promote compassion, acceptance, healing and hope. We aim to be a church that listens intently without judgment -- a place where people in all stages of their spiritual journey can belong, ask questions, give insights and find others to discover God with. We love to see people from diverse backgrounds in meaningful relationships and following Jesus together. We make room to re-imagine a world where the dividing lines of class, race and ethnicity can be dissolved in the love of God - all the while embracing the beauty of each unique individual. You will find our church to be of a generous orthodoxy. We have put together what we consider to be the most life-giving elements of spirituality that the church has grown through over the years. Many of us in the Vineyard grew up in the Catholic church, or in other more mainline denominations. We love these churches and are deeply grateful for what they formed in us. And we are continually looking for new ways to keep our faith alive, relevant and real. It is also our deepest desire to work in concert with other churches in our community. We are committed to this kind of unity. |
